PsyCare Worker’s Compensation & Rehabilitation

Return to Work – Initial Needs Assessments, Return to Work Plans (RTW)

An Initial Assessment examines the needs of an injured worker and the workplace requirements in order to develop a specialized rehabilitation plan for the injured worker. A PsyCare consultant psychologist will conduct an in-depth interview to obtain information relating to the injury. The assessment is a two-hour interview with the injured worker, followed by consultation with the employer, medical specialist and other relevant stakeholders. Following the Initial Needs Assessment a tailored Return to Work Plan (RTW) is developed through consultation with the employer, injured worker, medical specialist and other allied health professionals, which aims to achieve an earlier RTW for the injured worker.

Case Management

Case management applies to compensation claims and injured workers returning to employment. PsyCare consultants integrate injury and claims management in a multi-disciplinary approach to deliver a safe, cost effective and durable return to work. Each rehabilitation plan is tailored to the needs of the injured worker and employer.

Vocational Assessments & Market Research

A vocational assessment is used to identify an individual’s current level of knowledge, skills and ability, set vocational goals and recommend suitable employment options. The aim of a vocational assessment is to provide the individual with the knowledge to obtain suitable employment based upon the results of the assessment. PsyCare’s specialized assessments’ acknowledge the individual’s functional work capacity and identifies transferable skills. In addition, our assessment includes a detailed comprehensive report, outlining the individual’s vocational options, retraining needs and labour market research.

Stress Claims – Clinical & Factual Assessments/Investigations

PsyCare has a Specialist group of Consultants with common law knowledge who conduct comprehensive Stress Injury Investigations. These investigations provide expert clinical opinion regarding an individual’s clinical and occupational functioning in the Workers Compensation context. These assessments provide an independent and objective view on the individual’s current status, likelihood of future re-injury, and recommendations for rehabilitation and future management recommendations. These assessments also involve delivery of factual investigations tailored to meet quality and compliance requirements.
