PsyCare Clinical & Community Services includes assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and support programs for adults, families, couples, youth and children across a range of common psychological problems. PsyCare works within a collaborative framework with private and GP referrals; worker’s compensation and CTP insurers; and government organisations. PsyCare has a team of specialist Psychologists with many years’ experience and post-graduate training who can help strengthen individuals, couples and families to manage the challenging situations and stresses of life. Assessment & TreatmentClinical psychological assessments are designed to examine an individual’s current psychological functioning across a range of areas including family, work/academic, and social settings. The assessment involves a clinical interview to explore the individual’s history, objective measures of symptomatology and a review of current functioning with the goal of providing a diagnosis and clinical conceptualisation to guide future intervention. Clinical treatment is aimed at addressing the psychosocial factors contributing to an individual’s current distress such as thinking patterns, behaviours, lifestyle issues, coping skills and interpersonal skills, by using evidence-based approaches to provide children and adults with positive behaviours and problem-solving strategies with the goal of restoring psychological well-being. Areas of TreatmentAdults – Common psychological problems for adults include depression, anxiety, stress, anger and mental illness Teenagers – Teenagers experience a range of common psychological problems and we address these as well as life stage issues such as identity, self-esteem, relationships and peer pressure. Children – Common psychological problems for children include developmental delay, Attention Deficit Disorder and Asperger’s Syndrome, childhood depression and anxiety and oppositional behaviour. Couples – Relationships are an important foundation of healthy living and we provide comprehensive support to couples through each stage of their relationship. Families – Common problems for families include adjustment for blended families, sibling conflict, work life pressure and balancing family commitments, and strengthening family support and cohesion.
RAD Kids – Building Resilient and Determined KidsRAD Kids is an exciting and innovative strengths based program that has been developed by a team of clinical psychologists at PsyCare. RAD Kids is designed to teach children, and their parents, the social and emotional coping skills needed to promote resilience, self-confidence, positive relationships, achievement and positive mental health and well-being. RAD Kids is a six session group program that is delivered at PsyCare’s private rooms at Spring Hill, Mt Gravatt and the Gold Coast. RAD Kids can be tailored and delivered individually and can also be delivered in a range of other formats to suit parent education evenings and child development programs in pre-schools, kindergartens or schools.
